One of the downfalls about living in Texas is that we have ZERO family nearby. My parents and Ryan's parents both reside in the Pacific Northwest, a short jump of about 2500 miles away. This has proven to be quite the challenge ever since we decided to make our family of two into a family of three. But one of the biggest issues is that our family cannot come over any day of the week and see MacKenzie. So instead we try to keep them up to date on what is going on through phone calls and emails, but they constantly want pictures. Whine and complain that they need more pictures. MacKenzie is so accustomed to getting her picture taken now that she immediately stops what she is doing and smiles for the camera.

Unfortunately, Ryan and I have not been very diligent about getting those photos sent out or put on the web. Ryan tried. He started a website for MacKenzie the day she was born. And his updates were pretty regular. That is until about week 3 when we realized that babies don't really sleep all day. So that website has not had an update since MacKenzie was about 6 months old. She will be turning one in a little over 3 weeks.
Needless to say we have a stockpile of pictures to display. But I wanted to create this website as a place not just solely for MacKenzie. I wanted this to be about our entire family. Ryan, me, MacKenzie, and our three dogs, Bailey, Daisy, and Emma. Not to mention that most of our relatives have never seen our house, so maybe we should throw some house pictures in there, too. It seems everyone is blogging these days, so maybe it is time that we kept up with those Joneses.
